Purple vs. Leesa Mattress Comparison 2021 Purple and Leesa are two well-known brands that are currently selling mattresses online. Each one has largely managed to develop its own material to use in the highest comfort layer of the mattress and by giving its mattress a feeling that appeals to a wide range of customers. Both (with their mattresses) and (with the ) have branched into new models and designs, but for this comparison, we are focusing on their original and emblematic mattresses. These original options are foam mattresses with three layers. There are strong selling points for the Purple and Leesa mattresses, and each has a huge base of happy customers who have found the mattress to offer a high level of performance. This can make the choice difficult, but in this guide, we will cover the construction, firmness, price and dream experience associated with each one to help you choose the one that is most likely to bring you years of good nights sleep. Comparison of the construction of materials Building a mattress plays a critical role in how it feels and how likely it lasts. Both purple and Leesa are considered, but they have some clear differences in how they are built. Purple The purple mattress has a height of 9.5" and a cover that is made with knitted fabric. Inside, the mattress has 3 layers. The top layer is 2" of Purple Grid Company property. The material used in this layer is a patented and patented material known as a hyperelastic polymer. As the name implies, it is a grid, and it is composed of many small squares. When the weight is applied to the material, the squares are compressed. The more weight is applied, the more the squares are compressed, and once the weight is removed, they quickly bounce to their original form. This gives the Purple Grid a high level of responsiveness and resistance. The second layer of the mattress is 3.5" of polyfoam with a density of 1.8 PCF that gives more stability to the purple. The base layer is 4" support polyfoam with a density of 2 PCF. LeesaLeesa Leesa's original mattress has a height of 10" and comes with a padded polyester-lycra cover. Three layers of foam make up the inside of the mattress. The top layer uses 2" Premium foam, which is used only by Leesa, which developed the foam. Premium Foam is often described as "like silverx", which means that, in relation to traditional memory foam, it has more bounces. However, it still has notable contouring properties and the ability to relieve pressure points. The Foam Premium density is 3.5 PCF, and its ILD is 20. The second layer is 2" memory foam with a density of 3 PCF and ILD of 9. The inclusion of the memory foam, which is highly responsive, provides greater relief of pressure points and responsiveness. As a base layer, the Leesa has 6" support polyfoam with a density of 1.8 PCF. Comparison of Firmez A necessary part of choosing a mattress is to decide which level of firmness will be better for you because this will dictate to a large extent how comfortable it is in the mattress. Comfort, however, is subjective as the level of firmness that you find perfect can be too hard or too soft for someone else. While there are terms such as "plush" and "medium firm" that are used all the time to describe mattresses, it may be difficult to know exactly what they mean or if different companies use different terminology to describe firmness. That's why we use a scale of 1-10 for the firmness of mattresses. For this scale, 1 is the softest that any mattress could be, and a 10 is the most difficult. The most popular level of firmness is medium (5-7), but mattresses can be found on the market in almost all parts of the firmness scale, except for 1 and 10, which tend to be too far from the end. The Leesa and Purple are both solid median mattresses that fit into this most popular firmness range. More specifically, the purple is about 6 while the Leesa is 6-7. As this indicates, the Leesa usually thinks like practically the same but perhaps. Sleep experience Both the Púrpura and Leesa mattresses strive to offer a new kind of feeling different from the sensation of traditional memory foam while still offering support and comfort. As a result, there are many aspects of sleep experience that are relatively similar. Still, there are some differences left, and we will compare and contrast these two mattresses in each of the following subsections. Temperature Control Temperature ControlThe Leesa and the purple mattress are excellent when it comes to , and the purple makes especially good in this sense. With some other foam materials, there is a tendency for the foam to hold heat or for the body to be embraced too tightly by the foam, causing someone to sweat during the night. However, both mattresses generally avoid this problem. The Leesa does not have an excessive sink and has a lot of bounce to avoid the feeling swallowed by the mattress in a way that blocks the airflow. The purple mattress also has these characteristics, but also its abundant open spaces at the top of the Purpura Grid layer prevent the material from retaining heat. Motion Transfer To, movement isolation is extremely important. Insulation of movement means that when someone moves in a part of the mattress, it feels only minimally (or not at all) in other parts of the mattress. Because their materials respond to pressure only where it is applied, the Púrpura and Leesa mattresses are both very effective in motion isolation. However, of the two, the Leesa, with its contouring sensation and second layer with memory foam, is modestly better to prevent movement transfer. ResponsibilityResponsibility To make a mattress compatible, you need to be able to provide a different amount of damping to different parts of the body. For example, your ankles don't need the same level of damping as your hips. When a mattress is sensitive, it compresses in proportion to the needs of your body, which helps to keep your body aligned and prevents your column from contouring in a way that can cause discomfort or pain. A great plus of these two mattresses is that they are highly sensitive. The hyperelastic polymer in the purple mattress uses a grid design to provide this type of proportional support. Also, Leesa's combination of Premium Foam and Memory Foam is able to allow the sleep surface to compress to contour the body's needs. The biggest difference in support terms is for people who have very sharp pressure points or . Because purple only has 2" thickness to their comfort layer, it may not be thick enough to give enough damping in these cases. Instead, the pressure can immediately cause the Purple Grid to "below", putting more pressure on the less sensitive layer below. On the Leesa, on the other hand, the combined thickness of the comfort layer is 3", giving the mattress a greater capacity to accommodate people who are heavier or who have pronounced pressure points. Resilience and BounceResilience and Bounce A mattress often feels bounced if it is material quickly returns to its original shape when it moves on it or removes its weight from the bed. This bounce can facilitate movement in bed by changing sleep positions or participating in sexual activity. The design of the materials in these mattresses gives each of them a high level of resistance. Customers rarely report problems with moving in these mattresses, and the bounce helps to avoid any feeling of being trapped in bed. EdgeEdge Support As with many foam mattresses, the edge support is a problem for the Leesa and Purple mattresses. There are no materials included in the design to strengthen the edges, and the result is that the material on the edge is compressed considerably when you sit or lie there. This effect will be more pronounced for people who weigh more than 180 pounds. If the edge support is a priority for you, it is worth extending your search to consider other mattresses beyond these two. No gas and SmellOff-gassing and Smell There is usually some smell that emanates from the foam materials of both mattresses when they are first removed from their packaging. This smell is just a nuisance or discomfort: it is not harmful at all. But the smell usually fades within a few hours in a well ventilated room and most will last one day.
